Norman Lee

Norman Joseph Lee, 47, of Weymouth, went missing on Thursday, March 5, 2015, while snorkeling on vacation with his wife in Grand Cayman. Norman was born in Boston, to Henderson Paul Lee and Esther H.P. Lee, February 2, 1968. He graduated from Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School in 1986. He attended Southeastern Massachusetts University, where earned a BFA degree in Illustration/Design in 1990. Normans lifelong passion for mentoring and helping kids of all ages began in his younger years, spending summers volunteering in Boston helping underserved kids in Chinatown. He loved playing sports, including soccer and gymnastics in elementary and high school, and then fencing in college. Norman began his career as an independent inker/illustrator for Dark Horse, and then continued on with Marvel and DC Comics for over 20 years. His career of working in the comic book industry was his lifetime dream. Norman loved spending time with his fans and fellow artists at various comic book conventions around the country. He also enjoyed spending private time with his friends and family. Norman was preceded in death by his father, Henderson Paul Lee, who passed in 1982. Norman is survived by his wife, Jan Lee; his stepson, Patrick Mooney and his fiancee, Molly Clayton; his stepdaughter, Nora Mooney and her partner Andrew Blomquist; his mother, Esther H.P. Lee Howard and her husband Dan Howard; his sisters, Tina Lee and Rita Lee Liebel and her husband Brian Liebel; his longtime friend, Jeff Vecchiarelli; his Godfather, David Chew; and his beloved aunts, uncles and cousins in the Boston area, Canada, Hong Kong and all around the U.S. The world has lost a powerful and far reaching force for positivity and kindness. Please help his family and friends keep Norman alive by continuing to promote his messages of happiness, positivity, kindness and love for your fellow man. His love for others and his passion for life do not end here. He is now in all of us.
